Cells Vertical Garden
Eleven Samoan cerambycid or longhorn beetles, three females and eight males, express a concerted collective gesture. Evolved around the subject of cultural perception of natural events the group of beetles, each individual with a body length of 10cm and antennas up to 20cm long, suggests the notion of a particular ritual, the performance of a common aim. The antennas act as sensory outposts and are medium of communication and used to visually display cultural patterns. In this clearly directional gathering antennas converge to collectively create a void.
