As part of the refurbishment of this unique building from the 1920’s a generous roof top garden was established. The outstanding location in the city grid, overlooking most of the adjacent buildings, allows 360° views from Schönbrunnn Palace to Steinhof.

Steel planting troughs are immersed into the timber decking, fringing an open central space covered by a pergola.

The partly flush design of the planters offers a seamless green edge from the timber decking towards the borrowed landscape of the city.

The planting concept by Verena Holzgethan includes evergreen feature plants and flowing ornamental grasses inbetween. Flower aspects are spread over the whole year.
