As a conceptual backbone open space is divided in “onroad, offroad and e-road” areas, referring to different car types. Each area consists of a destinct set of materials, surfaces and planting.

The elevated ground floor of the building is surrounded by a stepped landscape. This signature gesture develops along the roadside approaching the building and wraps around the whole site offering seating for employees and visitors.

The entry area is defined by a local opening of the seating band, and an integrated ramp for barrier free access. Perennial plantings consist of blue and white colour aspects. Tree plantings complete this formal space for arrival and public approach.

Due to the semi demolition of the building the reuse of structural concrete elements is encouraged. A so called “bearer garden” is established as a divider between parking areas and garage entry, offering employees a green small park. Layered bearers of the former building create a diverse topography offering numerous seating oppotunities and holding lush plantings in soil pockets between the bearers.
